Port Messenger

Privacy Policy

Effective: 8 August 2026
Last updated: 8 August 2026

This policy describes the types of information Port may process to provide the service. It avoids promises about technical behavior that has not yet been finalized.

1. Introduction

Port Messenger ("Port", "we", "us") is a private connection service built around separate Ports for different people, services and moments. This policy applies to the Port app, website and related support.

2. Information Port may process

Depending on the features you use, Port may process account and profile details, contact or connection identifiers, content you choose to send, support communications, and information required to operate or protect the service. The exact fields and required permissions may change as the product is completed.

3. How information is used

Information may be used to create and maintain your account, open and manage Ports, deliver communications, provide support, prevent misuse, secure the service, meet legal obligations, and improve reliability.

4. Messaging and connection data

Port may process messages, attachments, delivery information and connection metadata when needed to deliver a conversation or operate a Port. This policy does not claim end-to-end encryption, immediate deletion, or zero retention unless those behaviors are separately confirmed in the released product.

5. Device and app information

Port may process device type, operating system, app version, network information, diagnostic events, crash information and security signals when needed to run and protect the service.

6. Permissions

The app may request device permissions only when a feature needs them. The released app and its store listing should identify the permissions it actually uses. You can manage permissions through your device settings, although disabling one may limit the related feature.

7. Sharing and service providers

Information may be handled by vendors that help operate infrastructure, deliver notifications, store data, monitor reliability, or provide support. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users, or as part of a legitimate business transfer. This page will be updated as the production vendor list is finalized.

8. Retention

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the service, security, legal obligations, dispute resolution and backups. Exact retention periods and what happens when a Port is closed still require confirmation against the production implementation.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

10. User controls

You may be able to manage your profile, Ports, connections and device permissions in the app. For access, correction or deletion help, contact [email protected].

11. Account and data deletion

See the Account & Data Deletion page for the currently available request process. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you before acting on a request.

12. Children's privacy

Port is not intended for children to use independently where parental consent or supervision is required by applicable law. Age eligibility and any family or school-managed flows are governed by the age rating on the Google Play listing.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Port develops. The updated date will change, and material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate channel.
