We first called the idea Looms.

A scene in Marvel Studios’ Loki stayed with me: the machine meant to manage every timeline could no longer hold them, so Loki stopped trying to preserve the machine and carried the timelines himself.

The lesson was not about superheroes. It was about replacing a broken default.

The phone number became a loom

One permanent number now threads through family, work, school, shopping, rides, deliveries, and strangers. Every new connection is woven into the same address, whether it belongs there or not.

We kept trying to manage that mess with blocks, filters, and permissions. The default stayed the same.

From Looms to Port

A Port is simpler. It is a door you choose to open.

You share a Port ID, not your phone number. The connection can exist without turning one identifier into permanent access to your life.

That shift gave the product its name—and gave ila something worth building.
